Second Tasmanian Seminar

Recently we held the second seminar for establishing yogis in Tasmania’s beautiful Golden Valley, on the side of Quamby Bluff. The vibrations of the Mother Earth and the hills were there to greet us, and once we had put up Shri Mataji’s beautiful photo, framed in a carved Indonesian frame, with a photo especially made to fit , the vibrations were as cool as cool in anticipation of the weekend to come.

One of the first to arrive was a car from Devonport with four ladies. Two of them came straight in and when they saw the altar, beams of joy radiated from them. One automatically placed her hands together and bowed to the photo. “She is so beautiful,” she said. “I’ve never done that before. I just felt that I had to.” What a start to a beautiful weekend!

There were fourteen of us altogether. They came laden with food – the Tasmanians are very generous people. Eight of them had been to the first seminar and were keen to renew friendships. All of them were always sitting ready for the eight different sessions that were held, and really enjoyed the strength of the vibrations.

We had arranged to do a Power Point presentation on the Mooladhara Chakra – yes, very techno! We had all the right cords and had practised beforehand, but could we get it to work? No! So we ad libbed, and yes, it was the most powerful session. They loved the knowledge that we have been given, and the meditation afterwards was beautiful.

Everyone enjoyed the bhajans and the mantras were sung with great sweetness. Everyone left saying how joyful they felt and asking when the next seminar would be, so we arranged it there and then: 24, 25 and 26 October 2009.

Sahaja Yogi at AlandiThe following story is about a Sahaja Yoga program that was held recently at Alandi, in Maharashtra State, India. Alandi is the place on the Indrayani River where Saint Gyaneshwar took his Samadhi. The account was written by Arno from Pune in Maharashtra. The photograph shows a Sahaja yogi visiting Alandi.

“Shri Mataji has told us Sahaja Yogis that Saint Gyaneshwar (1275-1296) was the incarnation of Lord Kartikeyya. He was – after obtaining permission from his elder brother and guru, Nivrittinath – the first one who openly spoke about the Kundalini. He was born, like so many great saints, in Maharashtra and spoke about God in the local language, Marathi, not in the Sanskrit used by the priest caste. In the 6th chapter of his treatise, Bhavarthadeepika (commonly known as the Gyaneshwari or Jnaneshwari) he described the Kundalini in all details. Therefore, the Brahmins forbade everybody except themselves to read this chapter.

“At the age of 23 Sant Gyaneshwar took his Samadhi, which means he left his physical body and merged into God Almighty. This happened in the year 1296 at Alandi, about15 km from Pune, where yesterday, 25th February 2008, a Sahaja Yoga Program was held.

“A couple of days before the program, permission and Blessings were taken from Shri Adi Shakti Mataji in Prathisthan. Shri Mataji gave Her full Blessings. The program took place in a school about 500 m from the place on the banks of a river where Gyaneshwar took his Samadhi. The program was attended by about 700 people: simple people, dressed in cotton kurtas and saris, many of the men wearing the typical white “Gandhi cap”, also many children.

“After an introduction by a Sahaja Yogi uncle and several bhajans sung by the Pune Bhajan group, an excerpt from Ramayana, a television series by Ramanand Sagar, was shown. This excerpt is used in Sahaja Yoga programs all over India and shows Luv and Kush receiving their Kundalini Awakening from their Guru, Valmiki Rishi. So, it shows to ordinary people that Kundalini Awakening is very much based on their own tradition and religious and cultural heritage.

“As Alandi, due to tourism, commercialism, ritualism, Brahmanism and a lot of other isms, has normally heavy vibrations, it took some time for the vibrations to clear out. Then a Marathi speech of Shri Mataji was projected onto two big video screens, followed by step-by-step-realization given by Shri Mataji! The vibrations were becoming tremendous and lots of vibrations were also coming from Mother Earth. The program was a full success and also a clearing for the entire area. It was amazing to see how much the eyes of all the people who had just received their realisation were shining. ”

Shri Mataji’s Birthday

chindwara.jpg

Shri Mataji’s 85th Birthday will be held at Easter time on Good Friday (21 March 2008) at Her birthplace, Chindwara, in Central India.

The picture shows the house in Chindawara in which Sri Mataji was born. The house has been purchased by Sahaja Yogis and is now being lovingly restored.

Shri Mataji is very humble about Her birthday. In 1997 She said:

“I will be very happy to celebrate your birthday than to celebrate Mine. So, may God bless you.”

Lori Wills, a Sahaja Yogi from Vancouver, Canada, had some special thoughts about Shri Mataji’s 85th birthday:

“Somehow I had the urge to check the calendar to see when Easter is this year. Can you imagine? Good Friday is March 21st!

Also, we had just learnt that Shri Mataji’s 85th birthday celebration and Puja will be held at Her birthplace in Chindwara, in Central India. That weekend will then be, according to Christian beliefs, Good Friday, symbolising the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and Easter Sunday, symbolising His resurrection. So we will celebrate HER 85th birthday in HER birthplace on Easter weekend! Is this a Divine coincidence? The combination of these events will certainly make for global celebration at many levels.”

Shri Mataji is happy when we sing collectively and that’s why the more Sahaja Yogis there are singing together, the stronger the vibrations.

I am reminded of an old cassette Subhash and I were listening to some time back. It was one of Shri Mataji’s Puja lectures in India (Calcutta or Delhi). We had listened to this lecture a few times before but would switch the tape off after the lecture. This time the tape continued to play after Shri Mataji’s lecture.

Shri Mataji asked the Sahaja Yogis to sing bhajans and asked if they had a harmonium with them. Although they did not have a harmonium or any other musical instrument, one of the yogis sang a bhajan in praise of Shri Mataji. At the completion of the bhajan, Mother said, “Good! But I would like all of you to sing one bhajan collectively.”

“And I want you all to clap,” She added.

The group had prepared a bhajan in Marathi to sing for Shri Mataji. They sang the bhajan collectively, clapping their hands rythmically three times (clap, clap, clap – clap, clap, clap – clap, clap, clap), the way we clap when we sing Aarti during Puja.

It was so beautiful, touching the heart! The bhajan was “Amhi matajinchya charnasi alo,” meaning, “As we have come to the Feet of Mother, we have been bathed in the Nectar of Chaitanya.” It’s a beautiful, beautiful bhajan. Subhash and I were hearing it for the first time. You can find this bhajan in the Sahaja Yoga Song Book.

At the end of the singing, Shri Mataji exclaimed, “What vibrations! So beautiful!”

She continued, “Because when you clap three times you beat your ego with the three powers of Shri Mahakali, Shri Mahalakshmi and Shri Mahasaraswati.”

This is such deep, Sahaja Yoga knowledge which we had not heard before. I opened my eyes and was so amazed. What did Shri Mataji say?

And we listened to this part again. My husband and I now understood why Baba Mama [Shri Mataji’s young brother] would ask the Sahaja Yogis to clap three times in Cabella when his music group was performing.

So now we clap three times whenever we sing or listen to bhajans.

Divine knowledge is coming to us slowly and so very beautifully. We keep learning all the time, sharing our beautiful experiences and miracle stories.
